Figure 1: Composition of B.asper adult (A) and newborn venom (B) from the Pacific region of Costa Rica, studied at the proteomic level (Alape-Giron et al., 2008). The venom contains the following families: disintegrin, PLA2 (phospholipase A2), CRISP, serine protease, LAAO (L-amino-acid oxidase (Flavin monoamine oxidase) ), Snaclec and snake venom metalloproteinase.
